Document Management Technician

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and data entry skills.  Following clearly defined standard operating procedures and guidelines under close supervision, the Document Management Technician performs the following functions:

  • Retrieve and copy incoming materials related to eDiscovery requests.
  • Data entry to track and update stats and statuses for all work performed.
  • Download, save, and categorize electronic data according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate tracking on an Excel sheet of data movement including receipt and returns of physical media.
  • Creates simple and standard reports in Excel.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all deliveries for data sent via USPS, FedEx/UPS, couriers, and hand-delivery from Legal Case Team members.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality and compliance standards.
  • This is a full-time position (40 hours a week).
  • This is currently an ONSITE position located at a secured facility in Washington, DC.

Required:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Ability to perform detailed work consistently, accurately, and under pressure extremely important.
  • Must be able to read and follow instructions.
  • Must be able to understand task, task objectives, and the context of the task in the litigation support effort as a whole.
  • Must take the initiative to ask questions when necessary to complete task correctly (e.g. where instructions are not explicit or appear to be contrary to the task objective).
  • Must have typing/keyboarding skills and good communication skills.  40 words/min touch typing preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable user of the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications systems.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred.

   

Preferred: 

  • Litigation support experience valued. 
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, demonstrate respectful and effective communication, and represent the organization positively in all interactions.
  • Be willing to work on a flexible or dead-line driven schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.

Compensation

  • Hiring hourly rate of pay: $19.98 (Hourly rate set by SCA)  
  • *This position is regulated by the Department of Labor (DOL) as a Service Contract Act (SCA) contract. The DOL regulates the minimum hourly rate of pay, holiday and vacation leave benefits, and Health and Welfare (H&W) money.  
  • *Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies are used to offset the employer’s cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes. Any remaining health and welfare monies after all applicable deductions would be cashed out to the employee on a 1 pay period lag.
