Job Summary
This technician supports the engineering team during planning, development, building/modification, and troubleshooting. They will perform non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for overseeing a build/modification project and reporting back to the engineering team any problems or concerns for variations during the project. They will oversee a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, select and adapt plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contacts personnel in the engineering team to resolve problems and coordinates the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others.
Essential Responsibilities:
The engineering team responsible for the project outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches. Completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements.
May be assisted by lower-level technicians and performs one or a combination of the following:
Reads, understands, and interprets complex drawings and specifications.
Conducts site inspections to ensure that all work, materials, and installations adhere to the contract documents and specifications.
Inspects materials and project build as it pertains to all disciplines.
Ensure the build of the project is performed to quality and safety standards.
Identify, document, and report any deficiencies or deviations from the contract documents during the project build.
Maintain accurate and detailed daily inspection reports during the project build to include observations, delays, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
Track the project progress, documenting activities and compliance with the project timeline.
Ensure compliance with safety requirements, both local and federal, including OSHA regulations.
Operate standard inspection tools, such as tape measures, levels, survey levels, and other devices to measure and verify project requirements.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical outdoor environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting to 20-50 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Strong communication skill to liaise with the contract COR and engineering team.
