Job Description

Purpose and Scope: 

Will handle and package hazardous and / or controlled waste in accordance with prescribed procedures and will prepare and deliver accumulation containers to the generating activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

1)    Responsible for the packaging, labeling, and handling of hazardous waste/material under the direct supervision of the Hazardous Waste Field Supervisor.

2)    Responsible for preparing and delivering pre-labeled accumulation containers to the generating activities under the direction of the Hazardous Waste Field Supervisor.

3)    Responsible for housekeeping and cleanliness requirements at the Hazardous Waste Storage Site.

4)    Interfaces with Company Supervisory and customer personnel on a regular basis, responding to all oral/written requests, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

High school graduate or equivalent.  Post high school training in hazardous material/waste handling and safety procedures.  Two (2) years experience working in a federal / state or industry hazardous waste disposal operation.  Working knowledge of hazardous waste and/or material handling techniques, applicable local, state and federal regulations and federal supply procedures.  Must possess a valid state driver_s license.  Ability to obtain automobile insurance coverage through Company_s provider.  Ability to successfully complete related training mandated by the Company and State or Federal law.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Ability to lift and carry loads of various weights and dimensions and ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods when working with hazardous waste.  Ability to operate a forklift up to 20,000 pounds.
