Purpose: Responsible for managing the technical library and quality management document control across the APS-5 program for security, tracking and accountability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains Technical Manual database and ensures that new Technical Manual Publications (TM PUBs) library materials are distributed to the maintenance work centers in a timely manner.
Searches and checks on materials that need to be catalogued such as books, magazines and journals and TMs. Distributes TMs to regional area maintenance work centers upon request. Maintains library records and circulation systems by entering data into computerized databases and editing computer records as necessary.
Maintains and/or uploads information to local area work center TM computer database to ensure current TM documents are readily available. Orders TMs when required and performs document control and editing functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1-3+ years as a librarian or prior experience in similar field is required.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office (including Microsoft Word and Excel) required.
Knowledge of military technical library procedures preferred.
Ability to prepare and maintain complex records and reports.
Certification, License & Clearance:
A valid driver’s license may be required.
Secret Clearance is required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Active Clearance is required: Must have an active Tier 3 Secret U.S. Government clearance.
Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Tier 3 Secret clearance.
Work Environment, Physical Demands & Mental Demands:
Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs.
