Amentum has an exciting opportunity in Hypersonics and Strategic Missions Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) for the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Crane located in Indiana!

The selected candidate will be part of the technical team supporting packaging, installation, and removal tasks, development, design, and testing of support equipment and systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical representation to the unpacking, installation and checkout of system support equipment and developmental assets

• Support government leads and engineers with the installation and removal of sensitive systems and assets

• Assist in development of process and procedure documents

• Must have ability to proactively identify issues, escalate to appropriate channels, and suggest solutions to engineering for review

• Unpackaging of test system assets and support equipment will be conducted at testing sites

• Participate in the mobilization, demobilization, and execution of installation and checkout of systems and support equipment at test sites

• Conduct post installation checkouts in accordance with applicable procedures

• Required to support system and subsystem testing, including travel to test sites as required

• Will work with engineering to inform support equipment maintenance and additional support equipment needs or modifications

• A thorough Hands-on knowledge and experience with the use of a variety of hand tools and mechanical equipment with the ability to read, interpret, and execute work to mechanical assembly drawings and BOM's

• The ability to demonstrate advanced technical knowledge in field operations and procedures as it pertains to mechanical assembly with a high attention to detail

• Must be able to work in confined spaces and pass confined space certifications

• Potential of up to 50% travel

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess technical training and a minimum of 5 years of related experience as a mechanical technician or equivalent

• Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point are required

• The technical prowess to tackle and understand new engineering designs

• Ability to work independently and facilitate customer collaboration

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance. Candidate must obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting work. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship required to obtain security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Navy weapon systems

• Demonstrated experience supporting large DoD technical programs

• Active Secret security clearance
