~ Evaluates, selects, and applies standard nuclear engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria.
~ Designs and initiates processes to gain benefit from nuclear energy and radiation.
~ Conducts research into problems of nuclear energy systems.
~ Designs and develops nuclear equipment.
~ Monitors testing, operation, and maintenance of nuclear reactors.
~ Prepares, reviews and approves drawings as required.
~ Leads various size groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists.
~ Uses data supplied by others to prepare a basic outline of work to be completed and establishes a schedule compatible with project goals and budgets.
~ Develops and documents all calculations for assignments.
~ Prepares and documents economic analyses and other system studies.
~ Provides progress reports and alerts others about delays and specialized conditions.
~ Prepares and presents expert testimony before regulatory bodies and courts.
~ Prepares and makes presentations to client and company management.
~ Contributes to technical literature in area of specialty.
~ Assists with the preparation of project scope within a specific discipline.
~ Works toward alignment of customer and company objectives.
~ Assists with interpreting codes and permitting as it relates to a specific discipline.
~ Fully understands the use of vendor documents and can review documents for accuracy.
~ Ensures quality, quantity, and completeness of the assigned engineering tasks.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.
Experience: 12+ years of professional experience within a nuclear facility design, operations, maintenance, criticality safety, and regulatory experience, 8+ years relevant experience with Masters degree
Professional Engineering License preferred
Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
