We are now recruiting for a Project Controls Engineer to join us on a project located in Africa.
This position supports the Program Management Office (PMO) to effectively, and proactively, manage, control, and report on progress, schedule, and material/inventory control for the project.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation of the required schedules and related documents
- Responsible for the project coordination procedures: project execution schedule (PES) updates, conducting weekly meetings with government management staff at the construction site to review the PES in relation to the project progress, display schedule on site and ensure all contractor personnel have access
- Provide prompt response to COR inquires about the status of the project
- Lead regular project controls reporting activities for the project from the project site front.
- Lead data gathering for schedule updates, needed schedule changes or material inventory control and procurement planning, checking data ensuring that data is in the right places at the right time.
- Liaise with scheduling subcontractor in preparing project reports based on project execution schedule updates and performing quality control
- Integrate cost and schedule data and reporting for the project.
- Assist in cost and change control processes under direction of PMO and with project and company procedures.
- Assist in tracking the performance of the project through use of earned value.
- Perform material and inventory control on the site from warehouse physical inventories and provide reports to program leadership weekly.
- Assist in developing and updating the project procurement plan.
- Work in close cooperation with the Project Manager (PM), Program Engineer (PE), superintendent, and PMO management and scheduling management staff relative to the development and implementation of the Project Execution Schedule (PES).
- Coordinate material purchase orders/take-offs inventory between the site and the PMO to ensure material is timely ordered and delivered that that Purchase Order (PO) quantities are correct and consider physical inventories.
- Assist the PE and the PM on all technical work and tasks on the site in terms of submittals, RFIs, site and office coordination, schedule updates, progress reporting, daily and monthly reports and any other technical or administrative tasks needed by the project team.
- Perform all other position related duties as requested.
Education/ Experience
- Minimum 5 years if professional employment on similar or comparable work, with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, construction science or technology or similar four-year bachelor’s degree with engineering or technology focus.
- Experience in design-build construction contract planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Experience in U.S. federal construction for at least 2 years as scheduler or project controls engineer.
- Certification in project planning and scheduling and in Primavera P6 preferred.
- Position will be based in Juba, South Sudan unless otherwise approved by the Customer.
Skills
- Knowledgeable and experienced utilizing and administering Primavera P6 software and Excel. Must have a valid P6 certificate
- Basic knowledge in Earned Value Reporting and contract change management.
- Experience with material control in construction.
- Complete MS Office skills.
