Amentum is seeking a Project Manager to manage the complete design, procurement and construction services and the contract coordination and supervision necessary to upgrade the electrical systems on the Department of State installation in Juba.  These upgrades will be completed to the Office Compound and the Residential Compound and include upgrades and new construction of prime power generation, upgrading and refurbishing the fuel systems and constructing a new ring main and connection to existing feeders.

This position will be based in Juba, South Sudan.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsible for contract performance for cost, schedule, and meeting contract performance requirements. 
  • Provides overarching management and direction throughout the entire program lifecycle from start up through close out.
  • Addresses contractual and technical programmatic issues and works with functional units to prepare modifications and negotiate changes with the customer.
  • Principal liaison with programmatic stakeholders and customer. Serve as the main point of contact for the customer and participates in all customer meetings. Responsible for developing effective working relationships with clients, counterparts, and stakeholders. Coordinates closely with the United States Government to ensure effective contract management. Drives customer satisfaction with on-time delivery, exceptional performance and 100% accountability
  • Ensure necessary resources are provided to meet program requirements, directing, controlling, and ensuring procurements are made in accordance with the applicable US Government regulations. Monitors program’s progress against the contract and organizational goals and objectives and ensures they are consistently and adequately met.
  • Manages day-to-day performance of subcontractors to ensure quality performance and compliance with contract and company requirements
  • Resolves staffing and resourcing challenges through creative and cost-effective approaches that are within budget.
  • Provides technical, financial, operational direction and oversees program implementation to ensure on-time delivery of the contract scope of work and seeks opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Support development of program deliverables and performs high level reviews and quality control to ensure timely reporting.
  • Responsible for budgets and costs, program funding and program financial reporting. Works with key stakeholders on financial performance, budget management, develops and supervises implementation of strategies to optimize contract profitability and reduce cost overruns and ensures prompt resolution of implementation problems. Improves cost effectiveness of program.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional employment performing comparable work.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical), Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • In lieu of meeting the educational requirements above, recent successful performance as Project Manager on projects of similar size, complexity, and location will be acceptable.
  • Proven Experience in all aspects of design/build contract execution.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, be very detailed orientated, flexible and have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and business writing skills and demonstrated experience drafting professional, concise, and persuasive messages.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate, cooperate and interface with multiple levels of stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Clearance not required but must be able to obtain security/badge access to U.S. Embassy.
  • Employees are required to follow the work hours established by the project; which can be modified from time to time to meet contractual requirements.
