Recycling Technician

This individual will have a critical role as part of the Solid Waste & Recycling Program. They will support our premier industrial Client’s strategic objectives. The ideal individual for this position will demonstrate a proven background in facilitating an influence zero waste principles and waste recovery markets. Outstanding teamwork and customer relationship management skills are important skills for this role.

The schedule for this role will be Mon-Fri 8:30am-2:30pm (32 hours weekly) and the incumbent will be eligible to participate in Amentum’s medical insurance and benefits plan. The target rate of pay is $17.00, depending upon experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures execution of the recycling activities at the site which includes wooden plates, rim recycling, cardboard, heavy metals, light metals, and general trash at the site.
  • Effectively support the coordination of the subcontractors associated with the recycling program at the site.
  • Coordinate and arrange for the shipping and delivery (by others) of waste to final vendor.
  • Apply measurement systems to monitor and assess progress towards achieving established goals.
  • Responsible for the accurate collection, compilation, and reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance data.
  • Provides customer service, answer questions, resolves complaints or issues, responds to external organizations’ surveys, etc.
  • Effectively manage vendors to meet contractual compliance.
  • Understand and implement performance improvement processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a recycling technician or similar role.
  • Computer proficiency using spreadsheets, databases, and online data processing applications.
  • Can effectively manage multiple tasks and can drive solutions.
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service and stakeholder engagement.
