Position Title: Service Desk Administrator Internship

Description of Duties:

The MIT Service Desk Administrator Internship supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

This is a 6-month long internship

The Candidate Will:

  • Provide front line technical support to customers via phone, email, and in-person, answering basic inquiries and troubleshooting common IT issues.
  • Create, assign, and track service request tickets to ensure timely resolution.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate Client System Administrator (CSA) or senior team members.
  • Be accountable for the maintenance and management of the queue of incident requests (IRs).
  • Be adaptable to support CSAs and senior team members in supporting Tier 2/3 break/fix efforts.
  • Support hardware disposition needs on assets like sanitization facilitation, excessing old or no longer needed assets, and hard drive destruction when necessary.

  • Be available to support a variety of tasks/roles, including but not limited to: IT Help Desk functions, coordinating break/fix and satisfying customer requirements through various channels.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have experience working with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs
  • Must have, or obtain within 90 days of start date, a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higher
  • Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have a CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Have a CompTIA Network+ Certification
  • Have experience with audio-visual systems
  • Have experience with Virtual Desktop Environment Support
  • Have experience with Active Directory
  • Have an understanding of Group Policies, DHCP, and DNS

This position is expected to pay 20.67/hr; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Compensation Details:

$20.67/hour
