The Site Security & Safety Officer is considered a supervisory position that works under the direction of the QEHS Superintendent and functions as the focal point for site safety compliance. Performs all duties in accordance with the PWS, Amentum WRM SOPs, WIs, ISO 9001, OSHA, DoD Instructions and USAF Instructions. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS), Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS), Oman Safety Laws and Regulations.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Performs daily safety inspections and surveillances with little or no supervision.
  • Performs formal safety audits under the direction of the QESH Manager.
  • Provides oversight and technical support to the site for Mishap/near Miss investigations.
  • Reviews audit reports from other sites for safety issues and identifies possible areas of nonconformance.
  • Provides technical support to the Site departments and Safety Committee.
  • Documents Safety Committee meetings records action items and tracks their progress and completion.
  • Promotes continual improvement by recommending safer techniques for worker tasks.
  • Monitors and validates site compliance with Health and Safety (HS) procedures and work instructions.
  • Reviews the site-specific HS procedures to ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Collects and reports monthly Safety data.
  • Working with RAFO Securing Department on base passes for personnel and vehicles.
  • Report suspicious activities to Site Management, USG Government or Host Nation Security Forces as required.
  • Maintain close supervision of Foreign and Local Nationals and other requiring an escort.
  • Brief employees and contractors under escort on the rules prior to entering Government controlled sites.
  • Manages site access badging process ensuring employees, visitors and contractors wear the appropriate Site Access badge on their upper torso at ALL times.
  • Ensure each Amentum WRM employee Visitor and Contractor properly complete the Installation Access Application (IAA) and associated document package as required.
  • Coordinate with HR and/or Site Support to obtain the required IAA supporting documents.
  • Coordinates with Site Support and/or Transportation Movement Organization to obtain truck base for shipping In/Out purposes.
  • Responsible for collection, coordination and tracking all US government .mil system access request (2875) packages for ESS, DMLS, DPAS, etc.
  • Assist applicants with correctly completing packages.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have outstanding customer service and organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an advanced level.
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Teams, Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
  • Must be able to understand American Health and Safety technical terminology.
  • Should be detail oriented, self-motivated and willing to continuously improve site Health and Safety processes.
  • Ability to pass OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety and Accident Investigation course upon hire.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of US HS regulations and standards preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Oman Safety Laws and Regulations preferred.
  • Experience in US, UK and Omani military disciplines preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • 30 Hour OSHA general industry course highly preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience in an EHS discipline is desirable.
