Finance & Accounting (Internship) - Army Fixed Wing Transport (LCS) Program - PMO Office Summer Intern is a temporary / part-time role (not to exceed 14 weeks) under Amentum's Summer Internship Program. The Finance Intern will support operations in Huntsville, AL.
This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Finance/Accounting, or a related field, looking to gain real-world experience in a dynamic and mission-driven organization.
Intern Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with monthly financial reporting and analysis.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes in the Army Aviation Program Management office.
Will reconcile general ledger accounts.
Help with cost tracking, invoice processing and audit preparation.
Analyze financial data and present insights to contract team leadership.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and special projects within Army Aviation.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, Amentum policies, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned or requested.
Some travel may be required, upon request, up to 25%.
Intern Minimum Requirements:
Intern must be currently enrolled in either a bachelor’s or master’s program in the field of Accounting and Finance, (or a related field at an accredited university).
Must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours, with a minimum GPA of 2.8.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is required.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills are required, with the ability to work independently and/or in a team environment.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship (or Permanent Resident) is Required; (must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Valid US Passport).
Must be able to complete a U.S. Government background investigation to be hired for the summer opportunity.
Position may be Hybrid (Work location is Huntsville, AL.).
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office suite applications.
Knowledge of SharePoint Online and Power tools is desired.
Knowledge of standard office equipment operation is expected, (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).
May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Business travel may be requested and/or required.
