Our team is comprised of 10 companies working together on one mission, Moon to Mars and then beyond. Job Description ASED will provide support to Lunar Assembly and Servicing by Autonomous Robots (LASAR), Darpa Novel Orbital and Moon Manufacturing, Materials, and Mass-efficient Design (NOM4D) and DISCMAN technology and payload development activities related to In Space Welding. This support includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Support all systems engineering phases and integration process for the duration of the project.
- Provide technical support to define requirement and verification deliverables; identify risks and solutions; collaborate with customers, working groups and discipline experts; provide status of systems engineering products at project, technical milestone and line organization-level meetings.
- Identification, derivation and allocation of functional and interface requirements.
- Awareness of the tailoring of MPR 7120.5 (MSFC Engineering and Program/Project Management Requirements) project documentation, design, manufacturing, and testing as appropriate
- System requirements and verification, support verification review and processing, database management, and tracking of verification status.
- Implement risk management processes and coordinate Safety Requirements/Hazard verification tracking.
- Maintenance of Component-Level specifications, requirements, and interfaces.
- Technical integration data collection plans/tools requirements.
- Interface definition and Interface Control Document (ICD) development/management.
- Technical coordination, export control compliance, and problem resolution.
- Translation of higher level requirements into lower level functional requirements and design options. Conduct trade studies/assessments to determine the optimal design solutions.
- Support relevant testing, including design, fabrication, documentation, analysis and assessments of test plans, test procedures, and test reports. Identify and pursue resolution of issues
- Attend technical interchange, project planning, design review and other appropriate meetings to maintain a current knowledge base of design, requirements, issues, action items, and resolution activities. Identify issues, pursue resolutions, and provide supporting analyses.
- Complete assigned action items.
Skills Required A degree in Engineering, Math, CS/Engineering, or any Sciences field. ABET university preferred. BS with 2-4 years of experience.
- Experience in technology development, operations, and systems engineering policies, principles, practices, and processes (including model-based systems engineering methodology)
- Systems engineering or integration experience with payloads or flight systems is required
- Working knowledge of NASA or DoD Systems Engineering processes is required
- Model-Based Systems Engineering experience required specifically with the MagicDraw tool
- Independent initiative with good “follow-up” and organizational skills

Physical RequirementsRequires sitting for extended periods of time in meetings with peers, management, and with our client at NASA facilities to discuss technical issues (10%). Also, requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk to write reports and perform engineering tasks (40%). Requires ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at NASA and Amentum facilities (10%).
Equipment and MachinesRequires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, fax machine, copier, calculator, and other general office equipment (100%).
AttendanceNormal workday is from 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Minimal overtime may be required (10%) to meet schedule milestones and to support technical demands of the job. Regular attendance is a necessity and adequate arrangements for delegating duties during absences are required.
