Tool Crib Attendant

The Tool Crib Attendant provides hand tools, shop supplies and equipment support for the maintenance complex.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Receive, store and issue hand tools, replacement tools, shop supplies and equipment.
  • Keep records of tools issued to and returned by workers.
  • Search for lost or misplaced tools and notify supervision as required.
  • Prepare inventory and requisitions stock as needed.
  • Unpack and store new equipment.
  • Visually inspect tools for wear and defects and will replace as necessary.
  • May attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment as needed.
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • Completion of high school or the equivalent is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
  • The ability to read and write and to comprehend technical instructions is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • A working knowledge of general hand tools and their applications and the ability to read technical orders and manuals.
  • Working knowledge of computer terminal operation.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires frequent climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, lifting, carrying, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level, pushing or pulling weight up to 70 pounds.
  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
  • Long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
