Training and Conference Manager to join the Amentum HR team!
Location: Work will be performed at the Johnson Space Center (JSC), Amentum Houston Office, as well as Hybrid/Remote.
Period of Performance: Through September 30, 2025
The EA Training and Conference Manager will oversee the coordination, approval, and administration of training and conference activities for the JSC Engineering Directorate (EA) Office (EA1). This role is essential in transitioning training and conference coordination under the EA Academy while supporting the broader mission of workforce development and professional training within the JSC Engineering Project Management and Systems Engineering Division (EX).
The ideal candidate will provide oversight of training processes, manage budgets and approval workflows, facilitate compliance with training requirements, and coordinate conference attendance and fellowship programs. Additionally, this role will support the EA Academy Lead in implementing learning initiatives, curriculum development, and engagement activities to foster professional growth among EA employees.
Key Responsibilities:Training and Conference Coordination: - Act as the EA SATERN Administrator, reviewing and approving all training requests while generating reports for Administrative Officers and managers.
- Oversee the EA Training Approval and Budget Tool, ensuring appropriate allocation and documentation of training funds.
- Manage the approval process for training-related requests, including 182 forms for training, conferences, and fellowships.
- Serve as a point of contact for all Center and Agency human resource development initiatives, ensuring alignment with workforce training needs.
- Conduct EA Training Needs Assessments and surveys in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Maintain training fund allocations and track spending plans, ensuring alignment with EA Training Goals, including annual training activities, keynote speakers, retreats, and specialized training sessions.
- Coordinate training funding sources from Center training funds (via Human Resources) and Supplemental Training Funds (EA13).
- Organize and execute annual EA employee keynote speaker sessions.
- Ensure compliance with conference guidelines and policies, serving as a liaison with Center contacts.
EA Fellowship Program Administration: - Develop and manage the EA Fellowship call for applications.
- Conduct review and selection processes for EA Fellowship recipients.
- Track awardee progress, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with program requirements, including grade submissions and Cooperative Support Agreements (CSAs).
EA Academy Initiatives and Learning Development: - Assist the EA Academy Lead in managing EA Academic Council activities.
- Support the strategic planning, benchmarking, and curriculum development for EA Academy programs.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement Engineering Directorate Orientation Training (EDOT).
- Maintain EA Academy website content, ensuring regular updates on spotlight interviews, newsletters, videos, and training opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of an EA Academy framework that enables Division-specific technical training.
Requisition Qualifications: - Education:
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 15 years of experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in training program administration, conference coordination, and workforce development initiatives. Prior experience with SATERN, training approvals, and budget tracking processes required.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to navigate training approval systems and manage compliance processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating training funding and managing budget allocations.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and work with multiple stakeholders.
- Work Environment: This role may involve a mix of in-person and telework activities, with flexibility to operate on-site at JSC or at a contractor location as required.

Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

AttendanceRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
