The AH-64 Aircraft Armament/Electrical Mechanic AM-I (AH-64 Armament/Electrical) inspects, troubleshoots, and performs maintenance on AH-64D/E armament, electrical and avionics systems, to include the electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneudraulic systems associated with AH-64D/E armament/missile fire control systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.

  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, modifies, and repairs malfunctions in the AH-64D/E armament, electrical and avionics systems and components including solid state and transistorized subsystems according to pertinent technical manuals, directives and safety procedures.

  • Performs maintenance, authorized modifications and alignment on aircraft weapons components, fire control units, sighting elements, electronic, and mechanical devices.

  • Repairs, replaces and performs operational and preventive checks and alignments on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics and controlled cryptographic equipment. 

  • Troubleshoots equipment wiring harnesses using technical manuals and schematic drawings to diagnosis and isolate faults and effect repairs. 

  • Tests, troubleshoots and repairs test sets and diagnostic equipment.

  • Maintains records on weapons and subsystems.

  • Removes, replaces, services, prepares, preserves, cleans and stores AH-64D/E armament, electrical and avionic components.

  • Disassembles, repairs, resembles, adjusts, diagnostically electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneudraulic systems associated with AH-64D/E armament/missile fire control systems according to directives. 

  • Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.

  • Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. 

  • Requisitions bench stock for the armament, electrical and avionics systems. Prepares request for turn ins and repair parts associated with AH-64D/E armament/missile fire control systems.

  • Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. 

  • Assists aircraft technicians and mechanics on various tasks.

  • Removes and disassemble defective parts of the aircraft.

  • Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance.

  • Performs additional duties, including maintenance duties, as requested.

  • Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality).

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • (FAA) A&P Certificate preferred Not required.

  • Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and Two (2) years of AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic experience WITH Three (3) years of specific hands-on AH-64 Armament Mechanic experience is Required. 

  • All experience must be within the Six (6) most recent years.

  • U.S. military technical school (Army AH-64) or specialized training course is desired; certification of education level is required

  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

  • Mechanic Tools are Required: Mechanics must provide their own tools and toolbox. Recruiters will provide required tool list and toolbox requirements upon selection for hire.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Security Clearance NAC-I (T1) Public Trust. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is Required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of AH-64D/E armament/missile fire control systems and repair. Must be able to determine whether faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair or replacement of parts and the nature and extent of repair required.

  • Basic knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the AH-64D/E Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).

  • Possess good communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.

  • Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects

  • Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by an aircraft armament/electrician mechanic.

 Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.

  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.

  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.

  • May be required to lift/push/pull heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.

  • Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.

  • Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.

  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.

  • May work in maintenance shop or outside.

  • Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.

  • May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.

  • May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.

  • May be expected to work in austere environments and all-weather conditions.

Colorado:  Compensation & Benefits:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,163.20 - $38.54an Hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
