Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Worker (Fuels) to provide support for a position located at Tyndall AFB, FL.
Responsibilities
- Assists mechanic to perform on and off equipment maintenance on aircraft fuel tanks, cells and external fuel tanks.
- Typical work may include panel removal, de-puddling, purging, and repairs or replaces malfunctioning components, adjusting, troubleshooting, operational checks, overhaul and modification, performs entry and maintenance in confined spaces.
- Prepares aircraft surfaces, applies sealants and adhesives, and associated chemicals. Cleans fuel cell and tanks, inspects for foreign objects, corrosion, cell deterioration and fungus. Stores, handles, uses and dispose of hazardous material and waste.
- All maintenance performed with appropriate Air Force technical data.
- Provides briefings to other personnel required to perform duties within the fuel systems repair area during open fuel cell maintenance as required.
- Advises on aircraft fuel systems procedures and policies and recommends corrective actions.
- Resolves problems using technical publications.
- Assists in training hydrazine team members and is responsible for hydrazine response team activity on/off aircraft recovery /response, leak identification, spill clean-up and neutralization.
- Ensures ample equipment and supplies are available to respond and neutralize any hydrazine spill.
- Properly prepares and stores hydrazine fuel tanks awaiting shipment.
- Maintains above ground fuels storage and dispensing systems to include but not limited to performing daily inspections, accepting fuel deliveries, filter changes and calibrating meters.
- Reads technical orders, manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine method of repairing malfunctioning or damaged components including ordering of correct parts.
- Assists higher level technical personnel with the installation of modifications associated with aircraft and targets.
- Maintains maintenance records and enters maintenance actions in aircraft forms and or automated records.
- Provides technical guidance to equal or lower level personnel. May be required to perform work of a lower level personnel.
- Performs aircraft maintenance and other duties, related tasks within their classifications as assigned by Supervisor.
Minimum Education and Experience Required
- HS + years of relevant experience
- Must have completed 2A6X4 technical school in residence.
- Overtime and weekend may be required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- F-16 fuel system maintenance experience highly desired.
Compensation
This position is represented by a union collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with an hourly rate of pay at $38.70.
