PURPOSE AND SCOPE

As Drafting Supervisor and member of the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for supervising and planning the activities of a group of drafting personnel and design specialists. You will serve as the liaison between the engineering disciplines, space planners, and the drafting department to allow seamless integration of the OASIS Engineering department scope.

As the Lead, your drafting team will be responsible for producing, updating, and maintaining site facility and infrastructure baseline drawings. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing small designs in concert with the engineering disciplines in accordance with site policies, procedures, and standards and ensure that quality site and project deliverables are produced to support our customer’s critical mission set.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Complete 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and other software in conformance with requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria
  • Review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes, design data and site standards
  • Coordinate the efforts of the group with other site functional areas as well as outside contractors and where necessary, establish a control program for all outgoing drawings
  • Receive, review, format and electronically file drawings supplied by outside engineers, vendors, clients, and other groups
  • Convert existing 2D drawings to current site CAD and drafting standards
  • Create 2D/3D/BIM drawings using external references and survey data while coordinating various disciplines
  • Mentor junior drafters/designers and develop a training program for the department as well as oversee and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel
  • Understand various analytical requirements, business concepts and principles, business financial terminology and measures, and exhibits sound business judgement in line with operating budgets
  • Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions and trainings, encouraging a safety focused culture and participating and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Essential

  • Associate Engineering Degree
  • Equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Field: Relevant or related discipline

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s Engineering or Architecture Degree
  • Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • 3+ years’ experience in supervisor capacity
  • Equivalent demonstrated experience

  • Drivers License

Desirable

  • Registered/licensed Engineer or Architect
  • CPR
  • White Card
  • First Aid

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – Minimum Essential

Minimum Essential

  • Good understanding of sound construction practices and basic architectural, civil, structural, electrical, fire, and mechanical design
  • 2D and 3D facilities and infrastructure design skills
  • Ability to read and interpret various designs, diagrams, and schematics
  • Ability to translate design solutions to quantifiable conceptual cost estimate
  • Demonstrated experience managing facility and infrastructure baseline documentation and design efforts
  • Manage multiple design projects at various lifecycle stages to meet deliverables
  • Understanding of US codes and standards to include Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
  • Experience with SAP and site owner level SharePoint administration
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with varied stakeholders
  • Experience with MS Officer operating system

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance w/ Poly

  • All personnel assigned shall be:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English

EHS REQUIREMENT
