The Electrical Inspector is the Code Compliance Manager for all electrical installations and electrical works carried out. This role is responsible for ensuring all relevant installations and works conforms to the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and site Policy and Procedures.

The Site Electrical Inspector plays an integral role within a diverse and complex work environment that is responsible for the management and control of critical infrastructure configuration, and is a key advisor of the Engineering, Project, O&M and customer teams across the Program Site.

The provides technical advice to the Site Electrical Safety Program and contributes as a technical authority and SME in support of facilities infrastructure, systems and equipment at site. This role is a key contributor to the delivery of coordinated and integrated service delivery throughout the Engineering functional area and across the Program.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the Site Electrical Inspection program and associated training curriculum
  • Conduct field inspections and compile investigation reports
  • Inspect electrical installations, repairs or modifications to ensure conformance to all relevant codes, standard, plans and specifications
  • Provide technical advice in support of the Site Electrical Safety Program
  • Support the early identification, communication and resolution of technical deficiencies and/or issues associated with critical infrastructure installation, recapitalization and configuration change activities
  • Support the integration, coordination, compilation and communication of technical information, recommendations and advice relevant to facility electrical infrastructure, systems and equipment
  • Facilitate and advise on technical integration activities and initiative
  • Provide technical recommendations, input, direction and advice on facilities system, infrastructure and equipment reliability, operation, maintenance and life-cycle management
  • Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliances at site and within the workplace
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Essential

  • State Licensed Master Electrician

Desirable

  • Diploma
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Post Graduate Qualifications
  • NFPA CESCP (Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional) Certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.

The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance w/ Poly.

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

All personnel assigned shall be:

At least 18 years of age.

Able to fluently read, write and speak English

EHS REQUIREMENT

All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements.
