The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.
Essential Responsibilities:
Coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities
Reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material
Requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material; arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules, and with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments, and examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified
May monitor and control movement of material and parts compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes and using calculators
Compile report of quantity and type of material on hand, move or transport material from one department to another, using hand or industrial truck
May compile perpetual production records in order to locate material in process, using manual or computerized system, and maintain employee records.
Completes required reports as needed and scheduled by the government and/or upper management
Assist in the supply warehouse as necessary
Monitor organization and cleanliness of the supply warehouse
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of three (3) years of material/supply functions, either in the military services or in commercial applications.
Must have knowledge of GCSS- Army
Knowledgeable of governing supply systems/programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines
Must have or be able to obtain licenses/certifications as needed to perform duties.
Must have a valid and current state driver’s license.
Must be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle
Analytic ability to define problems, collect necessary data, and establish facts and to take recommended action based upon applicable established guidelines
Must be able to complete paperwork associated with the position as required
Must be able to work in a fast paced, complex environment
Must be able to read and understand Technical Manuals, Technical Bulletins, Army Regulations and Department of the Army Pamphlets
Must have the ability to perform rot cause analysis and recognize changes in supply data
Must possess basic computer skills and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Must possess problem solving skills
Must be self-motivated
Must have understanding of military and civilian rank structure
Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must have an ability to meet physical demands and pass any related medical examination requirements required to perform daily assigned tasks
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government Common Access Card (CAC)
Position may require travel.
Ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Experience working with U.S. Army combat and tactical equipment preferred.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with or without accommodation.

Must be able to work at heights.
Must be able to climb in and out of vehicles of various sizes and heights

Must be able to conduct work in the out-of-doors area with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions (i.e. extreme temperatures, high humidity, rain and blowing dust).
Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of stooping; climbing; standing; and sitting for long periods of uninterrupted time.
May require shift work.
May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays.
During the usual work period, the worker may be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable.
