In this role, you will assist in integrating environmental requirements into project planning, permitting, design, construction, commissioning, startup, and operations. You will provide technical guidance regarding environmental mitigation tasks, participate in emergency response, and conduct inspections. Your work will help ensure project compliance with contract, regulatory, and Amentum requirements.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment.

  • Supports execution of the environmental component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.

  • Assists development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans, associated environmental plans and procedures, and training program.

  • Assists the integration of environmental requirements into planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.

  • Interprets environmental requirements and provides guidance on related tasks for program execution.

  • Researches issues and regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports.

  • Assists with environmental permitting, studies, risk assessments, and reviews involving site conditions, natural resources, cultural resources, and communities.

  • Participates in emergency response and aids incident investigation and resolution.

  • Participates in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, permitting agencies, and other stakeholders.

  • Conducts inspections and environmental monitoring and sampling to help identify risks, confirm the effectiveness of mitigation measures, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, and Bechtel requirements.

  • Provides guidance regarding environmental mitigation, permit conditions, sustainability concepts, and protection of environmentally sensitive areas, species, and communities.

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education: BS related to environmental sciences, field biology, natural resources or related science or engineering field

Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience with a degree. In lieu of degree, 5- 6 years of relevant work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(SHNM-ISH) Safety and Health Non-Manual Industrial Safety & Hygiene

Performs desk work, including writing, computer, etc. in support of line management safety and health needs. Review and generation of Safety and Health reports, records, etc. Development/management of Safety and Health process/procedure, training, metrics, etc. Perform Safety and Health surveillances and assessments.

Records generation, instrumentation and equipment management, and other industrial safety/hygiene functions.  Oversights and mentors Line Management and workers on the implementation of industrial safety/hygiene hazard controls. Responds to events providing injury/illness response, monitoring of conditions, etc. Hazard analysis and control determinations in support of project work activities. And conducts oversight and monitoring during work task performance to verify that exposure control mechanisms are sufficient to protect workers.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and selected candidate must be willing and able to work a rotating shift schedule, 4 days on / 4 days off, 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights.

Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship

Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $78,227.15 - $117,732.32 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
