  • Performs a variety of complex accounting tasks. Develops CORE Budgets. Maintains Budget to Actual analysis. Makes recommendation to Budget owners regarding Cost Control initiatives. Meets with Management and Customers regarding Cost Reporting issues. Provides weekly and monthly Cost Analysis.

 Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                       

  • Under direct supervision, performs difficult or complex general accounting tasks.

  • Assists in establishing improved accounting methods and procedures.

  • Performs various tasks and analysis under the direction of Accountants.

  • Provides guidance and direction to Performance Work Statement (PWS) Directors for accuracy and completeness of Budgets and Financial Performance against Budgets.

  • Performs the duties of Payroll Specialist and Accounting Clerk, as needed, to ensure adequate coverage is maintained.

  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Qualifications                                                                                                                                       

  • Must pass Company and NASA required background check and be eligible to obtain a NASA security badge.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience as a Financial Analyst.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.

  • Deltek Costpoint experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of accounting terms required.

  • Knowledge of Federal and NASA regulations and procedures preferred.

  • Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive material and communications.

 Working Conditions                                                                                                                                           

  • Physical effort involving standing, sitting, walking, or detail work.

  • Occasional risk of injury due to hazards.

 Physical Requirements                                                                                                                                       

  • Dexterity to operate office equipment as required by the position.

 Special Knowledge and Skills                                                                                                                                       

  • Proficient in standard business office software.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Able to pay close attention to detail.

  • Able to take direction.

  • Able to work independently, but follow specific detailed instructions.

  • Able to interface with various levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team-oriented environment.

Preferences:

  • Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.

 Other Requirements                                                                                                                                       

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.

  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).

  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.

  • Must pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.

  • Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance.

  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license.
