Purpose: This position is Dual hatted. This FSR/UMP position is part of the Ukraine Mentorship Program which advises, assists, and provides maintenance oversight of AFU personnel and repair operators, including performance of maintenance and repair of commercial or military equipment and platforms alongside AFU personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspects and provides all maintenance and repair efforts of field artillery (M109’s, M119A3’s, M1A2’s, breech maintenance, borescopes, Recoil exercise, 120mm mortars, M242 chain gun M2A3, and armament systems alongside AFU personnel.
  • Performs field and sustainment maintenance on artillery; responsible for the direct and general support maintenance; include the CROWS, Remote Weapons Station (RWS), M777A2 Howitzer, and 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm Mortars; responsible for the Cleaning, Inspecting, Servicing, Repairing, Disposition, Evacuation and Movement of all Weapons in support of the mission.
  • Manages and directs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as required, including repair of electronic materiel, artillery, support equipment, small arms and crew served weapons.
  • Provides mentorship and advises AFU personnel on designated platform and ensuring tasks are completed to standard, tracks and collects historical data and accountability of AFU personnel who have attended.
  • Provides feedback from MRO and monitors ESR for assigned platform.
  • Assists with all programs and missions involving repair of weapons systems as configured into packaged unit sets.
  • Responsible for combat readiness and assist with management of a Direct Support/General Support maintenance mission.
  • Inspects all repairs completed on the above-mentioned equipment.
  • Inspects all repairs, replacements and/or modification barrel assemblies, upper receivers, lower receivers, gas tubes, gas rings, feed trays, feed pawls, buffers, and their related components.
  • Determines serviceability of parts; exercises initiative to maintain productive progress and accepts responsibility for the results.
  • Oversees the use of common hand-tools and shop equipment to ensure employee safety.
  • Diagnoses and determines remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repair of tow artillery or small arms weapons, with little or no supervision, using a variety of diagnostic techniques and practices.
  • Instructs other employees in the proper repair maintenance procedures and capabilities of small arms and tow artillery maintenance and related TMDE.
  • Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
  • Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of Quality Management System.
  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 6 Years related experience required.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret U.S. Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle repair.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior military experience is a plus.
  • Military MOS 91F (USA) 2111/2131 USMC or civilian equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge with Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW) preferred.
  • International driver’s license prior to deployment preferred.

Certification, License & Clearance:

  • Valid US Driver’s license required.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a CAC, if required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility and credential /authorization:

Note- US Citizenship is required for facility credential/authorization at this work location.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • This position requires day and night shift coverage with no differential
  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
