HIRING SALARY RANGE: $27.00-$32.00 per hour (Hourly pay to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.

This is primarily a 1st shift position from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm that supports a 24/7 operation; work hours may vary based on critical business demand. 

As the General Maintenance Technician, you will perform many daily duties, including: 

  • Providing an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on the buildings and facilities equipment in a research and development environment. 

  • Working safely with low voltage systems, including electric strikes, sensors, and badge readers.  

  • Analyzing and resolving work problems or assisting workers in solving work problems. 

  • Performing functions of the position safely, including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE. 

  • Performing basic repairs of facility equipment and internal building structure such as walls, doors, ceiling, and floors, eye wash stations, re-lamping of internal/external light fixtures, and cameras. 

  • Documenting findings and actions taken using work order software (EAMS).  

  • Identifying and correcting any safety-related issues and performing independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.  

  • Performing other duties as assigned by Management or Lead. 

As the General Maintenance Technician, you will be expected to:

Minimum Requirements 

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent. 

  • Two years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities and/or equipment in an industrial environment; or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for each type of respirator needed for the position or for an approved alternate respirator that provides equal or better protection from identified hazards. 

  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location. 

  • Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested. 

  • Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, weekends, various shifts, rotation, and alternative work schedules. 

  • Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident. 

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. 

Some physical/special requirements include:  

  • Regularly lift to 50 lbs  

  • Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding  

  • Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement  

  • Walk or ride bicycle extensively throughout the plant during shift  

  • Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions  

  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding  

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.  

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.  

  • Ability to take an annual TB test. 

  • Ability to receive MMR titer or provide proof of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella vaccination.
