Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an IT Support Technician to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.

PURPOSE / SCOPE

The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing workstation/PC hardware installation, configuration and maintenance; supporting user applications and troubleshooting; executes touch labor tasks; and other duties as assigned all while ensuring successful performance and compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS), Program, USG, and international requirements and guidelines.  Ensures compliance with standard management practices including but not limited to monitoring, records keeping, report preparation, training, inspections, data reporting, etc.  Will perform other duties as assigned

The IT Support Technician will be available for on-call support as needed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience in a Microsoft® operating environment with field experience in personal computer (PC) hardware installation, configuration and maintenance certifications: IAT-1: Security + or GSEC or SCNP or SSCP (IT Support Technician must meet requirements outlined in the DOD 8570.1M directive matrix IAT-1)
  • CSWF Basic per DoD 8140.03; Windows/Office support
  • Experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
  • Must be familiar with current global, US, Program and PWS requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's license throughout employment in this role
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
  • Ability to successfully pass CENTCOM medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies
  • Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • May work in a typical office environment
