Description of Duties:
The Mission Security Specialist supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
• Assists with maintaining, securing, issuing and ensuring accountability for visitor restricted area badges in support of site access duties and distinguished visitor (DV) events.
• Conducts security briefings to required personnel regarding visiting and escorting MDA facilities.
• Ensures construction and maintenance personnel are properly badged, are briefed on security standards and are monitored within the restricted area for conformance with all applicable security policies and regulations.
• Issues Land Mobile Radio (LMR) units and base stations to authorized personnel.
• Assist staff personnel with plans, programs, and implementation of activities which may include security, logistics, visitor control, protocol events, scheduling, and test support.
• Provides alternate convoy commander duties associated with transportation of assets.
• Assists customer with maintaining security databases, tracking escort training and access lists to secured rooms, security containers within the facility and photographic device permits.
The successful candidate will:
• Have excellent verbal communication skills are necessary for interacting with individuals, providing directions, and reporting incidents.
o Good written communication skills are also important for accurate reporting.
• Be able to interact professionally and courteously with a diverse range of people.
• Be able to understand and follow instructions carefully and accurately.
• Be able to write clear, concise, and accurate reports of incidents or observations.
• Have a strong sense of ethics and a commitment to upholding security protocols.

Basic Requirements:
• Must have 4, or more, of years of general (full-time) work experience.
• Must have 2, or more, years of direct experience working within a security type position
• Must be knowledgeable in DoD escorting policies and procedures for escorting uncleared personnel in classified areas.
• Must be able to move freely around a large installation and/or facility, to include up and down stairs
• Must be able to remain alert for extended periods of time
• Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Requirements:
• Previous experience providing security or escort duties to the Missile Defense Agency.
This position is expected to pay $70,000 - $80,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
