Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking an Operations Manager to support a pending contract award based in El Paso.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall direction of a major segment of a subsidiary, a number or specific type of project(s), market area, geographic area, or department and the assigned staff in their organizational entity.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance of work to ensure it is done in accordance with cost, schedules, contractual and customer requirements.
  • Contribute to the achievement of market development goals.
  • Provide organization leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, standards and procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Resolve conflicts or controversy to facilitate meeting established company objectives.
  • Under limited direction, is responsible for the overall direction of a market area, geographic area or group that supports a small volume of work and/or small to medium sized project(s), with a large percent of subcontracted work.
  • Develop and maintains customer contracts.
  • Is involved in planning, developing and coordinating project related activities.
  • Provide technical direction to key project personnel.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline or demonstrated equivalent and a minimum 15 yrs demonstrated ability and knowledge to effectively manage projects.
  • Knowledge and experience includes, but is not limited to: construction methods, engineering, estimating, equipment, materials, contract administration, subcontractor management, claim negotiations, project controls, labor relations, finance, manpower development and utilization and the development and maintenance of customer and competition contacts.
  • May be involved in extensive market development work.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Position may require travel.
