We are now recruiting for a Programme Commercial Director to join us permanently. You will lead the relationship with the supply chain and play a key part in maintaining and enhancing Amentum’s relationship with the Client.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the staff, coordinate workloads, priorities, and schedules to ensure timely and effective completion of work; and monitors and evaluates staff performance.
  • Develop and deliver a commercial strategy for the major project
  • Part of lead commercial interface team with Client at project and programme level to ensure continued acceptance of commercial strategy
  • Prime commercial interface with supply chain leads including contract negotiation, delivery, and relationship management
  • Oversees the award, coordination and administration of subcontracts.
  • Directs the compilation of reports and distributes as required.
  • Oversees subcontract terminations and issues instructions for resolution in accordance with agreed contract and procurement procedures.
  • Coordinates proposal preparation, justification, and documentation and conducts negotiations of contract modifications.
  • Ensures the development, implementation and management of a subcontractor performance evaluation programme to ensure quality services that deliver value for money and compliance with the terms of the contract(s).

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Education/ Experience

  • Bachelor's degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Chartered (Preferably RICS) or equivalent
  • Experience of contract and subcontracting management experience, preferably in high consequence, highly regulated industries
  • Significant experience of managing high-value contracts with nuclear SLCs and/or the nuclear supply chain
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and supervisory skills
  • Proven experience in senior commercial leadership role
  • Experience of NEC3/4 contracts required
  • Experience of working collaboratively project/programme/client environment
  • Currently hold SC or prepared to go through the SC process
  • Willing to travel as required, primarily within the UK

Additional Experience:

  • Senior Client facing/ Client management experience.
  • Managerial abilities and excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, implement and monitor high standards of excellence in areas of quality, safety and operational performance.
  • Experience in working with public procurement regulations and the levels of scrutiny involved in spending public money
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint).
