About the Opportunity

Social value is the effect of the Amentum organisation's business operations have on the well-being of the community and society and how we support our key clients to achieve this across their projects. Within the context of UK legislation, our Amentum Social Value Lead/s will support our clients to secure wider social, economic, and environmental benefits.

In this role you'll provide leadership, direction, and advice to the collective social value related activities of the client and its Supply Chains, including:

  • Social Value Leadership and stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensuring the client Social Value Plan/Policy is aligned with wider activities and interventions for project success.
  • Support to tenders requiring social value response. 
  • Advice on setting social value metrics.
  • Developing Amentum social value offers. 
  • Setting targets, monitoring progress and ensuring client adoption of the UK Government and similar Social Value Models, and supporting client engagement in Government reporting and similar requirements. 
  • Advising on risks related to following alternative models.
  • Interfacing with related areas such as greenhouse gas reduction and supply chain development. 

Here's What You'll Need

Experienced in leading UK based Social Impact activities, applying, and developing recognised best-practice methodologies in large organisations or seeking to grow in this area.

  • A member of the Institute of Social Value (Social Value UK) or Social Value International (SVI) and/or ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of social value.
  • Knowledge of social value metric setting, measurement and reporting tools.
  • Commitment to operate to the high standards of behaviours needed for client project success: safety and wellbeing, ambition, diversity, inclusion, equality, empowerment & energy, and trust & respect.
  • Able to build relationships at C-suite levels within both private and public sector organisations.
  • Good understanding of the nuclear skills and skills for nuclear environment and the supply chain.
  • Experience of working in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders from private, public and third sector organisations, including C-suite levels.
  • Due to the significant level of stakeholder engagement and coordination required, this position requires residency in the United Kingdom and the ability to travel across the UK.
