Quality Assurance Technician / Software Tester

Amentum is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician / Software Tester to join our Portsmouth, Virginia team. You will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, debugging, integration, and implementation of systems in support of the Warfighter.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Debug and test application code.

  • Coordinate with the development team.

  • Construct test cases.

  • Assist with software documentation

  • Use aptitude to learn new technical tools required for the role.

  • Comply with hardware and software systems standards and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Active Secret Clearance. Must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret US Government Clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (equivalent education/experience).

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of job-related experience. Must include 3+ years of software testing experience.

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Active Top Secret US Government Clearance

  • Current Security+ CE certification 

  • Experience with Agile and DevOps or DevSecOps software development practices, such as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Test Driven Development (TDD), and pair programming

  • Experience with Behavior-driven development (BDD) and related technologies (i.e., Gherkin, SpecFlow, Cucumber, MSTest etc.)

  • Experience with automated load testing (i.e., jmeter, k6 etc.)

  • Experience with a distributed version control system, such as Git

  • Experience with containerization technologies (i.e., Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes etc.)

  • Experience with test management tools, such as Azure Test Plans

  • Experience with automated UI testing, such as Playwright, Selenium, or Telerik Test Studio
