About the Opportunity

For our Global Delivery Organization (GDO) in Krakow we are currently looking for a Senior General Ledger Accountant.

The Senior General Ledger accounting teams are the “gate-keepers” of the financial statements. Senior GL Accountants are an experienced group of Chief Accountants responsible for the end-to-end process. They are accountable for ensuring that business transactions are properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company’s accounting process. In this role you'll be the owner of the financial statements for each separate entity, as well as consolidated statements for the entire company. The General Ledger is the central core of accounting information system that provides a complete record of financial transactions over the life of the company.

Key Responsibilities of our Senior General Ledger Accountant include:

  • Balance sheet account reconciliations preparation and review
  • Supporting period end activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and accruals
  • Dealing with intercompany and transfer pricing processes
  • VAT/GST/HST reconciliations preparation and review
  • EMEA entities tax package preparation and review
  • Providing support for internal and external audits
  • Performing financial statement reviews, analyse variances and initiate corrective actions
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant accounting requirements, internal controls
  • Fixed Assets Register - recording and resolving issues with additions, retirements, disposals; posting depreciation write-offs
  • Perform other related accounting duties as assigned
  • Implementation of new solutions and tools

Here's What You'll Need

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, equivalent major or equivalent experience
  • Professional experience in accounting environment
  • Professional experience in general ledger
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems (Oracle R12 preferred)
  • English skills that allow to communicate effectively
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and controls
  • Very good teamwork skills and positive, proactive attitude
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving mindset
  • ACCA or equivalent nice to have
